Coaching or Counseling?
What’s the difference?
Decide what is right for you…
-
Counseling
Counseling services are provided only to Pennsylvania residents and are regulated by the State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors. These services involve the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions and are offered under Michelle’s license as a Professional Counselor.
-
Coaching
Coaching services are not a substitute for mental health counseling or medical care. Coaching is a forward-focused, goal-oriented service designed to support high-achieving women in building sustainable routines, improving mindset, and reducing overwhelm using research-backed strategies. Coaching is reserved for individuals who are highly motivated, psychologically stable, and ready to take action toward personal growth.

Disclaimer
If, at any point, it becomes clear that a client would benefit from a higher level of care—such as mental health counseling or support beyond the scope of coaching—they will be referred to a licensed professional who can best meet those needs. This process ensures that all clients receive the appropriate level of support, in alignment with ethical standards and best practices.
Michelle operates her coaching and counseling services separately, in full compliance with the American Counseling Association’s Code of Ethics and Pennsylvania state regulations, to maintain ethical boundaries and transparency.
